Data security is one of today's hottest legislative and societal issues. New state and federal laws are forcing companies to re-evaluate their IT disposal methods. Regulated or not, improper data sanitization can expose you to legal, financial and PR risks. The following steps outline our data security program, called SecureTrack. As a CSI customer, you will gain the benefits of this program at no additional cost, producing bottom-line savings and real peace of mind. STEP 1: Lock hard drives for shipping. Our DriveProtector software utility makes this easy and free. STEP 2: Upon arrival at CSI, returned equipment is moved directly into a secure cage with limited employee access. STEP 3: Within this cage, all hard drives on all PCs, notebooks and Intel-based servers are sanitized using a triple-pass overwrite procedure modeled after U.S. Department of Defense 5220.22-M standards. Any drives that fail to wipe clean are fully destroyed. STEP 4: A verification certificate for each serial number is provided for your records. Read more about the SecureTrack process.
