What happens to your IT assets after you're done with them? If you're not thinking about the legal and PR issues that will arise with improper handling of your returned equipment, we suggest you start. We think about it - a lot. In fact, we built an entire operation around it. At CSI, we first concentrate on the best sort of recycling - reusing the equipment by wiping the hard drives clean and reselling the equipment to another user. But since that's not always an option, we built the E-Scrap Processing Center. Run by our wholly-owned subsidiary, EPC, the E-Scrap Processing Center is a state-of-the-art, professional de-manufacturing operation. This facility is used when any component cannot be sold whole or in part, or has malfunctioned and is unusable. Items are disassembled down to plastic, steel, aluminum, circuit boards, power supplies, etc. with final distribution to other U.S. facilities, which recycle the raw materials. EPC is an approved electronics recycler with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the State of Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the largest DNR certified electronic waste recycling facility in the State of Missouri. EPC maintains a strict Zero Landfill, Zero Export Policy which means no obsolete equipment is dumped or sent overseas. Additionally, EPC has signed the Basel Action Network Pledge of Responsible e-Waste Stewardship. Rest assured, your e-waste is being handled responsibly. |
