Home / Why CSI / Data Security
Protecting your data.
When you lease technology with CSI, you have a built-in data security program in place for equipment that is no longer in use. Our strict processes help you meet the highest standards and regulations and, best of all, give you peace of mind.
By processing all returns in-house through our subsidiary, EPC, we can ensure that your data is being properly erased by vetted technicians. Our process follows the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST 800-88) and is certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID). We also provide online reports detailing which assets were cleansed. Any hard drive or storage device that cannot be wiped is destroyed.
The following steps outline our data security program:
STEP 1: Upon arrival, returned equipment is moved directly into a secure environment with limited access.
STEP 2: Within this secure environment, hard drives on all PCs, notebooks and Intel-based servers are sanitized using leading data wiping software according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Any drives that fail to wipe clean are fully destroyed.
STEP 3: A certificate showing proof of sanitization for each hard drive serial number is provided for your records.
With owned processing facilities located throughout the world, along with a vast network of vetted service providers, we can provide a consistently high-level of service without the markups, problems and insecurities of having an unknown party involved.
