EPC Moves Recycling Operations to New State-of-the-Art Facility
November 10, 2016ST. LOUIS (November 10, 2016) – CSI’s wholly-owned remarketing and recycling subsidiary, EPC, has moved into a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Wright City, Mo. The $5 million facility is 104,000-square-foot and replaces the existing 65,000-square-foot recycling operation in Earth City, Mo. EPC expects business volume to increase by 20 percent initially, with additional growth anticipated.
“The leadership in Wright City embraced our vision for the new recycling facility,” said Dan Fuller, president of EPC. “They listened to our needs and helped us find the right location that would meet our current requirements and allow for future growth. They were also instrumental in working with our employees to help them relocate into the area.”
EPC’s Wright City recycling facility features a $1.7 million magnetic optical sorter shredding machine that includes smart technology, automating the process of sorting and decommissioning computer equipment and eliminating the human risk associated with decommissioning. The sorter is also able to learn processes, improve performance based on logging and avoid mistakes. The new shredding machine positions EPC at the top level of technology recycling facilities in the country.
“Large corporations take the decommissioning of their IT equipment very seriously, and rightfully so,” said Fuller. “It’s our job to help ensure that this process is handled properly. That’s why it was important for us to build one of the most advanced facilities in the United States, with processes, technology and certifications to give our clients, especially data-sensitive organizations, the confidence to know that the job is being done properly.”
The new facility currently employs 70 people, with plans to grow by an additional 20 employees within the next 12 months. Banze Construction was the design-build contractor. The project was self-funded through EPC operations and EPC’s parent company CSI Leasing.
